Good things take time. Great things take consistency.
In the spirit of consistency over perfection, here’s the meal prep plan I’m having this week.
Today, we’re surrounded by promises of faster results.
Lose the weight in 30 days.
Build the business in six months.
Grow your audience overnight.
Become the best version of yourself with one challenge, one hack, one shortcut.
A couple of weeks ago, I realized I had fallen into that trap too. I hurt my back during a 30-day challenge.
It wasn’t because I had never exercised before. Quite the opposite. I’ve been active for most of my life. What happened was much simpler. I got tempted. I found a workout challenge online that promised faster and “miracle” results. Like many of us, I thought, Why not? Maybe this is exactly what I need to get to the next level.
Instead of listening to what I already knew about my body, I listened to the promise of getting there faster. A few days later, I was in the ER because I got injured while working out.
As frustrating as it was, it became a reminder of one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned, not only as a founder, but as a mom, and simply as someone trying to build a meaningful life.
Good things take time. The exception has become the expectation.
Without realizing it, we start believing that if our own progress isn’t happening as quickly, we’re somehow doing something wrong.
I’ve felt that pressure too.
As entrepreneurs, we want our businesses to grow faster.
As parents, we wonder if we’re doing enough.
When it comes to our health, we want results yesterday.
When we compare ourselves online, patience starts to feel like falling behind.
But when I look back at the things I’m most proud of, none of them happened quickly.
Not my businesses. Not my family. Not my health. Not my confidence. None of them came from a shortcut. They came from doing the work consistently.
I also think this is why I’ve become much more intentional about who I learn from.
Not because everyone else’s opinion is wrong. Most people genuinely want to help.
But when I’m trying to improve in an area of my life, I want to learn from people who have built something that has lasted. “Not the magicians”.
People whose businesses have stood the test of time. People whose health and body reflects years of consistent habits, not just one impressive transformation. People whose lives, not just their results, I admire.
Experience doesn’t make someone perfect. But it teaches lessons that shortcuts usually can’t. I’ve also learned to trust my own intuition a little more. Most of the decisions I regret weren’t because I didn’t know better. They happened because I ignored what I already knew. I let urgency become louder than my instincts.
And every single time, life found a way to remind me to come back to what has always worked: Consistency, Patience, Focus.
The funny thing is, this philosophy has shaped almost everything I share here.
Whether I’m writing about mindset, motherhood, wellness, or food, I’m rarely promising quick fixes.
You’ll probably never see me recommending a miracle diet or an extreme challenge. (unless is for health reasons, like the anti-inflammatory diet I shared before)
Not because they never work. But because I’m much more interested in what still works six months from now. Or five years from now, without getting hurt of burn out in the process.
That’s why every week I share meal plans built around real food. Meals with plenty of protein, fiber, whole foods, healthy fats, vegetables, simple menus that fit into real life.
Because I don’t believe healthy eating should feel like a diet. I believe it should become part of your life. The same way I believe businesses are built. Relationships are built. Families are built. One good choice after another.
If there’s one lesson I’ll leave you with this week, it’s this:
Don’t let the world’s obsession with quick results make you question your own journey. Stay focused on what matters. Be patient with the process. Keep showing up, especially when it feels hard.
The most beautiful things in my life weren’t built overnight. They were built over time. And looking back, I wouldn’t trade that journey for any shortcut. This is a friendly reminder to play the long game.
