Planning to host an unforgettable brunch in Miami or NY—without the stress of cooking or cleaning? Whether you're gathering loved ones for Easter or celebrating Mother’s Day, here’s your go-to guide for hosting a beautiful, stress-free brunch at home.
Hi friends! I’m Diana, co-founder of Chefpost and your go-to girl for all things hosting. I've been hosting for years (I won't say how many 😉), and I can tell you: brunch is one of my all-time favorites. The weather is perfect, spring produce is abundant, and it’s the kind of occasion that brings you favorite sweet and savory dishes together. It’s like a no guilt situation right there.
Let’s dive into how you can host the perfect brunch —minus the overwhelm.
Step 1: Book a Personal Chef (And Actually Enjoy Your Own gathering)
The first thing you’ll want to figure out is the menu—but here’s the good news: you don’t have to cook it. At Chefpost, we make it easy to book a vetted personal chef for your brunch experience. We have a category just for brunch, and many chefs even offer special Easter menus or Mother’s Day specials.
My tip? Choose an experience with at least six dishes, mixing savory and sweet. Most menus are customizable to your preferences, so if you love a plant-based twist or want classic dishes like deviled eggs, quiches, and French toast, we’ve got you.
Want to level it up? Add a signature cocktail or mocktail and set up a little coffee bar. The love is always in the details. 💛
Once your chef is booked, they’ll show up at your home, cook everything fresh, and even clean up afterward. You get to enjoy your own beautiful served brunch without lifting a pan. Yes, it’s that easy.
Step 2: Create a Simple, Stunning Spring Tablescape
Now for my favorite part: decorating the table. I like to choose a theme, color, or vibe to anchor everything. For brunch, think garden party meets Miami cool. Pastels, florals, and pops of color are always a win.
Last Easter, I ran to Trader Joe’s for a few flower bouquets—they have beautiful options that last long and add variety in color and texture. With 3–4 similar bouquets, you’ll have enough to style your food table and guest table(s). I usually buy them 3–4 days in advance so they bloom just right.
Pro tip: While you're at the store, grab fruits and veggies in your color palette. Think purple grapes, pink radishes, lemons, or rainbow carrots to decorate the tables naturally.
Step 3: Bring It All Together With Vases and Serveware
You’ll need a few vases or bud vases of different heights and designs. I like to mix and match, and over the years, I’ve built a small collection I reuse constantly. If you’re starting out, go for simple white or clear glass—timeless and versatile.
Some of my favorite go-to shops:
CB2 for modern vases
Crate & Barrel for classic serveware
HomeGoods for budget-friendly hidden gems
Amazon for small buds in all colors and sizes
The day before brunch, arrange your flowers, play with heights, and don’t overthink it. It’s easier than it looks—and honestly, it’s fun!
Step 4: Don’t Forget the Tableware
Whether you’re going family-style or buffet-style, make sure your serveware and tableware are ready to go. Here’s a basic checklist:
✅ Tablecloth or runner (optional, but pretty!)
✅ Napkins
✅ Dishware
✅ Flatware
✅ Glassware
You can also go with elegant disposable tableware from brands like Sophistiplate—super stylish and easy to discard after.
Step 5: Enjoy Like a Guest
Once everything is set the night before, all you have to do is show up, smile, and enjoy the moment. You’ve created a beautiful experience—and you actually get to experience it too.
Hosting doesn’t have to mean being stuck in the kitchen. With a little planning and a Chefpost chef by your side, you can relax and enjoy with your guests like never before.
